On Friday, June 16, over 250 West End House young people, families, volunteers, and staff celebrated the close of the school year with an evening of delicious food, a youth awards ceremony, and musical and dance performances by West End House members.

The event was emceed by West End House alumni and current staff members Mason and Myesha, who provided spirited entertainment while guests enjoyed a homemade summer cookout-inspired dinner of ribs, turkey burgers, coleslaw, potato salad, garden salad, and watermelon — and ice cream sandwiches for dessert.

The evening featured performances from young artists including the West End House Step Team, the Junior Band, and the Senior Band. Following the performances, the emcees presented awards to outstanding Club members for their leadership, excellence, and commitment to the West End House community throughout the year. Honors included the Peer Leadership, Music, Pathways Art, College Persistence, Club Citizenship, and Teen Scholar Awards.
