On Tuesday, August 2nd, 15 teens toured the House of Blues in downtown Boston and learned about careers in the entertainment industry. The House of Blues is a chain of live music concert halls throughout the United States. The group of West End House teens toured the Green Room, sound and lighting boards, and the Foundation Room — a closed-off performing space for new and upcoming artists.
After the tour, the group sat down for a Career Panel with the Assistant Manager, Special Events Manager, and Sales Representative. They learned that in the music industry, like most industries, you have to start at the bottom and build your way up. The best advice they heard was that you may start off doing one thing but life takes a turn; you may end up doing something completely different.
