Individual Volunteer Opportunities

We are seeking adult volunteers (age 21+) to join us and make a difference through one or more of these opportunities:

Literacy

Our Reading Buddies program is designed to help youth improve their literacy, while also developing a lifelong love of reading. Volunteers are partnered one-on-one or two-on-one with a WEH elementary school/middle school member and meet every week to read aloud for one hour.

Academic Support

Help Club members ages 7-18 achieve academic success by providing homework help, tutoring and encouraging members to become self-directed learners. Volunteers are paired one-on-one or in small group drop-in sessions and support our Education Center and Success Lounge.

Afterschool and Summer Program Support

Come engage with Club members and support our staff in program spaces throughout the day! Volunteers can join weekly programs in focus areas including but not limited to Visual Arts, Dance and Movement, Sports and Fitness, Cooking and Nutrition, and Social Recreation.

Food for Families Program

Help us get ready for grocery distribution by packaging bags and boxes with fresh produce and frozen food items for our families. Additionally, you can help us with our bi-weekly grocery distribution by greeting and checking-in families upon arrival and/or assisting in loading bags and boxes into family vehicles.

Please note: All West End House volunteers are required to be vaccinated.
