On Friday, June 13, we will wrap up our school-year program with the Westie Awards—a high-energy, Club-wide celebration recognizing our incredible members and their accomplishments. The event will also feature youth performances and honor the volunteers who make so much of our success possible through their time, energy, and heart.

As part of this celebration, we present our Volunteer Superstar Awards, and we’re thrilled to spotlight one of this year’s outstanding honorees:

ZIPPY ABRAHAM PAISS, Academic Tutoring

Zippy joined West End House this past January as a drop-in tutor for our high school students in the Success Lounge—and in just a few short months, she has already made a powerful impact. Zippy approaches tutoring with curiosity, warmth, and patience. She is always eager to meet youth where they are, helping them build confidence while tackling difficult subjects—especially AP-level coursework!  She’s a calm and encouraging presence in the room, and students feel her support:

“Zippy is really nice and helped me do my homework.” – Milena (16)
“She is always really helpful!” – Karla (12)

Beyond academics, Zippy also volunteers with our Saturday Food for Families Program, where she helps pack and distribute essential groceries for local families.

Thank You to All Our Volunteers!

This school year, volunteers showed up for our youth in powerful ways—from academic tutoring and arts programming to food distribution and special events. We are deeply grateful for each and every one of you.
