Last summer, we partnered with Boys & Girls Club of Boston Boys & Girls Club of Dorchester’s “Safe Summer Streets” program, an initiative geared towards keeping teens safe and productive during the summer months. We hosted and attended teen summer parties each Friday night. These gatherings allowed for our teens to interact with fellow Boys & Girls Clubs teens, as well as participate in fun activities like graffiti art, inflatable obstacle courses, outdoor games, an ice cream truck provided by the Boston Police Department, all while listening to great music and enjoying a delicious dinner together.
In addition, our teens competed in basketball games twice a week with neighboring Boys & Girls Clubs. Weekly games allowed teens to reflect on self-improvement and teamwork.
West End House is incredibly grateful for these partnerships and opportunities to engage our teens in fun and enriching program cornerstone experiences, including interactions and community gatherings with their peers.
