After months of planning and construction, our hydroponic Freight Farm is officially up and running! With this versatile green space we’ll provide youth with hands-on gardening skillsāfrom planting and maintenance to harvesting and preparing nutritious greens. Greens grown in the farm will not only be grown and harvested by members, they’ll also be incorporated into our food & nutrition programs- served as part of the home made meals we make every day, and potentially distributed with our Food for Families program.
Looking ahead, we canāt wait to see our youth members explore the farm, learn to grow their own vegetables, and develop a new set of practical skills. A huge thank you to our community partners, including Takeda, for their unwavering support in making this goal a reality!
