West End House youth pose with Rush the Raccoon at our National Girls & Women in Sports Day event

On Saturday, February 8th, we hosted our first community-wide National Girls & Women in Sports Day. Local partners joined us from across Boston to lead sports clinics, panels, and sessions on key issues facing women athletes, with a focus on inclusivity and representation. More than 65 girls enjoyed this day filled with inspiration and excitement!

West End House is excited to continue empowering our young women athletes through specialized programming, including the relaunch of our competitive girls’ basketball league this past winter.

A huge thank you goes to our amazing partner organizations and volunteers, and to our Director of Sports and Fitness, Whitney Edwards, for making it all happen! It was a great lead up to our March celebration of Women’s History Month!
