West End House offers dynamic, year-round programs designed to help young people aged 8-18 succeed in elementary school, middle school, high school, and beyond. Through individual and group support (homework help, one-on-one tutoring), timely academic interventions, and partnerships with schools and families, we provide high impact academic support. Some of our key initiatives include:

STEM Programming: We offer daily programs focused on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) including robotics, coding, and earth science activities. Our STEM programs are available for all ages and align with Next Generation Science Standards.

Reading Buddies: A literacy initiative pairing youth with adult volunteers in an interactive setting focused on reading activities designed to improve fluency and comprehension skills. Buddies and Tutors, please submit reports here.

Power Hour: Making minutes count helps Club members ages 8-18 achieve academic success by providing homework help, tutoring and high-yield learning activities and encouraging members to become self-directed learners.

College Access: College access activities begin early with awareness of the opportunities unlocked with a college degree woven throughout our youth programming. When middle school-age youth successfully research and choose the best high school opportunity available. As they progress academically, dedicated staff help students navigate a successful path from high school to post-secondary education and career opportunities that match their academic background and interests.

During their Senior year of high school, all students begin working with college success coaches to define and pursue their post-secondary goals, including applying for college and securing scholarships and financial aid to make their college goals attainable.

Upon college entry, West End House continues to support academic success through our College and Career Success Program.
