Biggest Fun Ever 2k18!

On Friday, August 24, West End House celebrated its 4th Annual Biggest Fun Ever, a community-wide block party event that celebrates the inspiring life and memory of West End House alumna and staff member Dawnn Jaffier, who became an innocent victim of violence at age 26. This yearly event serves as a meaningful way to honor Dawnn’s beautiful life that was taken from our community too soon.

The 2018 Biggest Fun Ever welcomed guests including Boston Mayor Walsh, Massachusetts State Representative Honan, and over 300 community members from the entire city of Boston. The celebration kicked off with a welcome message from West End House alumna and mentee of Dawnn, Stayce Legagneur, who launched the evening of games, food, and fun.  Throughout the evening, youth, family, and community members engaged in activities such as a water balloon catapult, face painting, a temporary tattoo station, corn hole, and even a giant blow-up unicorn sprinkler!

Guests also had the opportunity to cheer for their favorite teams during a basketball tournament, which included teams comprised of West End House alumni, staff, and community members. For dinner and dessert, party-goers enjoyed shrimp kebabs, hot dogs, pesto pasta salad, empanadas, watermelon, snow cones, and cupcakes.
