Andrea HowardExecutive Director Since 1999, Andrea has worked in partnership with the board of director to revitalize this 100 year old organization. The West End House continues its long tradition of service to immigrant children and their families by providing a safe haven to more than 1000 club members each year. Young people from 40 different countries, speaking ten different languages, rely on the daily programs and activities provided in the areas of Education & Career Development; the Arts; Leadership & Lifeskills; and Sports, Fitness & Nutrition. Andrea’s involvement with Boys & Girls Clubs began with her participation in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps where she served as Program Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mobile, Alabama. Andrea’s career with the Boys & Girls Clubs has led her to California, Vermont and Florida. Prior to joining West End House Boys & Girls Club, Andrea was the founding executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County, Florida, where she established the organization from the ground up. Andrea is the recipient of the Robert W. Woodruff Fellowship and holds a B.A. from Boston College and an M.A. in public administration from the University of South Alabama.Kristin RhudaDirector of Operations Kristin is responsible for day to day Club operations managing the program staff and overseeing the execution of the service delivery model. She has worked at the West End House for the past six years in both program development and fundraising. Before joining the West End House, she managed an after-school program located in a local public housing development. Kristin is a recipient of the 2004 Robert W. Woodruff Fellowship for Boys & Girls Clubs of America and has recently completed her MBA at Babson College. Lori LeahyVisual and Performing Arts Director Lori joined the West End House in 2004 after serving as Director of the Atkinson Gallery of Fine Art and as an art instructor at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. Lori is responsible for overseeing the Club’s Visual and Performing Art Programs as well as the Education Program. In addition to Lori’s experience teaching art to children, she previously owned her own ceramic tile business, worked as a graphic designer, gallery director and photographer. Lori holds a B.F.A. from Lesley University and has studied at the masters’ level at the Art Institute of Boston. Jenny NuteProgram Director / Leadership & Life Skills, Sports, Fitness & Nutrition Jenny began working with at-risk, urban youth with City Year before joining the West End House in 2002. Jenny was recently promoted to Program Director after demonstrating her skills in youth outreach and peer mediation as well as program development and enhancement. She has played an integral role in the delivery of programs and workshops to Club members. In addition to overseeing the core program areas of Leadership & Life Skills and Sports, Fitness & Nutrition, Jenny is responsible for the Club’s leadership programs, Keystone Club and Torch Club. |
