Visual & Performing Arts

Youth throughout Boston come to West End House to participate in a range of high-quality affordable arts programs they cannot find elsewhere. The West End House has nearly 4,400 square feet of space devoted to visual arts, music and theater. This extensive range of classes and state-of-the-art facility keeps youth engaged as they progress through their artistic studies, constantly challenging them as they develop new skills.

Hands-on programs are supplemented by cultural events held at the West End House, and programs thorough West End House’s relationships with the Museum of Fine Arts, Institute of Contemporary Art, Music And Youth Initiative, Berklee College of Music, Boston Children's Chorus and others.


Visual Arts

Members learn the fundamentals of design, color and technique in a variety of mediums. Classes are offered to all ages and skill levels and include painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, pottery, silk screening, photography, and ceramics.

Music Clubhouse

Using new instruments and cutting edge digital equipment, members learn to sing, play guitar, drums, bass, and violin; compose original songs; and even mix digital tracts. Individual and small group lessons are available.

Theater

Children learn the basics of movement before they progress to reading from a script and exploring play production, learning how to express their emotions and react to different situations.
